D620 Wireless network stops working when docked in D/Port
Hi,
I have a new D620 (bough from Dell last week) and a D/Port (purchased used). I need to be able to use the wireless network with the dock, because I don't have an ethernet connection. It works fine when it's not docked. But, once it's docked, it doesn't want to connect to the access point. It can scan for networks and identifies the one that I want to use (and indicates very good signal strength). So, the wireless network is enabled. But the darned thing just won't connect to the access point. I've tried re-entering the WEP key. And ideas? The other dock functions seem to work (USB, power, DVI cable). Is it possible for the D/Port to be broken in some way that prevents this from working? Or maybe some sort of bug that most people don't experience because they don't use WiFi in the dock?

I think that I figured out what is going on. I didn't mention this before because I didn't think that it was important, but I have a Dell 2407WFP screen that runs 1920x1200 resolution. I recently discovered that when I use the VGA cable and the d/port, the wireless network works fine (excellent signal, etc). But, when I switch to DVI and set the resolution above 1600x1200, the WLAN dies. So, obviously, Dell has a problem with interference using the D/Port, D620 and Wireless LAN when DVI is set above UXGA. I'm using all-Dell stuff so the problem is theirs to own. Unfortunatly, the analog VGA signal looks like at WUXGA resolution when using the D/Port. I did try another D/Port and it has the same result. I've reported it to Dell Tech support Maybe they can send a better DVI cable or figure out how to improve the DVI circuitry in the D620 or D/Port and send me an updated one or something. This problem makes me wonder if this Dell setup is actually FCC part 15 compliant in this mode. Why not just use VGA mode? Well, first, WUXGA looks like with analog VGA going through the D/Port (it's not too bad when connected directly to the D620). And, second, I should be able to use both the DVI and VGA at the same time to do a dual-head when I want to - maybe with a 2007FP or something.
I hope that this report helps someone else.
mh- I am having this exact issue with my new Latitude D820 with the D/Port and my Dell 2001FP LCD display. When I use the DVI connection on the monitor and the D/Port my wireless internet on the laptop just stops working. When I switch over and use the VGA cable instead, the wireless works flawlessly, but of course the display quality on my 2001FP suffers since i'm now using the analog connection.In my opinion this is just flat out unacceptable from Dell. I am using ALL DELL components and this prevents me from using my DVI connection that I paid good money for on both my monitor and the D/Port???
