This is the second 6510 I have had with a touchpad mind of its own...the mouse is not moving or moves on its own sometimes- or continues to float across the screen... I have tried BIOS update snd touch driver update, but no avail. The last 6510 took a new install of a touchpad hardware...I watched the tech and you have to take the whole dang thing apart to replace it. - um, no. tech call!!! any ideas?

Did you ever get this resolved?  Do you use the laptop with the lid open or closed when this happens?  I have a couple that seem to do it when the lid is closed and they are docked more often then when used off the dock.

Hi, we're experiencing the same issue with a number of our E6510 laptops which are docked. The users have to open the lid as a workaround.

So far have updated the BIOS, chipset and touchpad drivers without any success.

Has anyone been able to resolve?
