Fault in video card?

Hi all, I have an inspiron 9400 with a nVidia 7900go GS.

From 2 days onwards, I am experimenting graphic glitches both under Windows and Ubuntu linux, at normal GPU temperatures (65 °C)

Attached there is a screenshot of the graphic error.

Every time the lines are different both in number and in position.Sometimes they fill the screen than I get a Blue Screen from windows that says the nvidia driver entered an infinite loop.

Is this a symptom of a faulting video card? All diagnostics tells it's fine, but I have severe doubts...

What does the image look like on an external monitor?

It looks like a dying video card, yes.  To confirm, power on, press F12, load the Dell diagnostics and run the test on it.

Are you looking up the service tag in the location where the system was purchased?  Service tags will not show up for European or Asian systems on the US website, and vice versa.

I tryed a dual display configuration and the artefacts were present on both screens. Moreover, I have problems with the internet site: my service tag is not recognized and I can't access some usefull pages. :(
