INSPIRON 6000 NUM LOCK PROBLEMS

I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO, MY COMPUTER'S NUM LOCK LIGHT TOGGLES WHEN I PRESS THE KEY BUT IF I PRESS FOR EXAMPLE DE J(1) IT TYPES THE J AND NOT THE 1, HOW MAY I CORRECT THIS PROBLEM, THE ONLY WAY FOR ME TO BE ABLE TO TYPE THE 1 IS IF I PRESS THE FUNCTION KEY AT THE SAME TIME. PLEASE ANYONE HELP ME CORRECT THIS PROBLEM

    Hi there

    1. Confirm the settings in the BIOS for the embedded keypad.

    2. Shutdown the computer.

    3. Once computer is shutdown and powered off, press the power button

    4. At the Dell splash screen, press the button to enter the BIOS.

    5. Once in the BIOS, hold the button down and press the

    button until Page 4 is displayed.

    6. Confirm that the Enable Keypad option is set to the By Numlock setting.

    7. Press the button to exit the BIOS.

    8. If prompted to save changes, highlight Yes, using the arrow keys on the keyboard and press Enter
