Hello

i´m looking for a way to start my cooling fan. Actually the fan never starts and after a few minutes the pc is total freeze!
Is there any way to start the fan,by a software?
Or ist there any other solution (external switch)?
Thanks for your help

If the fan never comes on and the system freezes, then I would suggest that you run the diagnostic program on your system to see if there is a problem and to help diagnose the problem.

You may have the diagnostic program on your notebook now.  When the system boots up and you see the Dell BIOS Splash screen, hit the F12 key and choose "Diagnostic".

If that is not there, then you can download the diagnostic program from Dell's site.  Click on the drivers and Downloads icon in the left column.

That program will NOT work with the I7500.

Check out this web page under the compatibilty section.

Is there any other way, to start the fan?
i find an answer in this forum: Cut he black cable from fan and make a connection to the grounding...after the fan permanent running!
    Is it true?
Is it the only way to start the fan?

The expected life of the fan will be cut by around 70% by running it as full speed as opposed to varying speed control.

You need to track down the cause of the problem.

    Hello
I think, i fix the problem...
I switch off serial and parallel port in bios, now the insiron 7500 run since 6 hours without any problem!

Thanks for all the help, hope i can give it back any time!
