printer power

Help please

Can I connect my printer so that when I turn on my laptop the printer will turn on?
They're both working fine now - just thought I might be able to save a step but I can't
figure out how to do it.

Thanks

Thanks for the information and quick response.
Think I'll leave it the way it is.

    Thanks again

This is OK to do if you have a laser printer. If you have an inkjet, it's a bad idea - many inkjets have specific purge/clean/park cycles that are activated by the power button - you should use the power button on the printer. If you don't, the heads don't park and the printer won't cycle properly and you can wind up with nasty clogs as a result.
