Question about D620 Screen
I just quick-read the sticky post about the D620 screen clarity, but my question doesn't seem to fit there. If I'm mistaken, please say so...
For a few days I used my D620 (bought 24th oct '06) in a train for the first time (first time on a non-stable surface).
In the middle-left of the screen (about 40-50% from upper edge, 25% from left edge) there was a shimmering spot, as if someone was pressing on the lid on the backside. It vibrated with the rumbling of the train. The effect is a bit the same as when you press with a finger on the frontside of the display, but just a bit bigger, with less sharp edges.
When I use the notebook @home, all is right, but I notice now a very slight discoloring at this spot when I move the lid, or press light somewhere (not just at this spot!) on the backside.
Are there other eople who have seen this effect? What did you do? What did Dell do (if you contacted them in this matter)?

- No, sorry, but that doesn't seem like my problem. Yours looks really like a bad connection, my problem is more due to a unregularity in the light-distributing foil, or in the backplane of the display.
When you press on your display with a finger, the colors around the pressed spot change, it looks like there is a fluid in the display. My display has this discoloring when it vibrates, for example when I'm on a train. It looks like someone is pressing with a very blunt item, and it's flickering with the vibrations of the display.
I don't know yet if this is with many displays (a design error) or just my display (production error)...
