Video Corruption
Hello,
I have an Inspiron 5150 with the lates bios and drivers. (from dell website) Using Windows XP Pro. My video Card is the Nvidia Go5200 that came with my system.
This morning when I turned on my Laptop I started to notice Color Distortion, it starts as soon as I Power the system on and Looks like "Shadows" at first. When I Boot into Windows I get Blue Horizontal lines all over the place, I can still navigate and the lines will change depending on what I'm looking at.
I have not installed any new software/hardware/drivers I simply shut my system down last night as I usually.
I have tried Uninstalling the video drivers and reinstalled them after a reboot with no success, also I have reflashed the bios, I did this because I can't find a way to reset it. (the Dell BIOS Reset instructions are not accurate)
Any suggestions are appreciated, my warranty recently expired so Dell support is no help.

- Try reseating the flex cable to the LCD panel (under the keyboard and RF shield). If that doesn't do it, inspect the cable for damage; replace it.
Failing that, you have two options - replace the display panel ($400+) or have it repaired by an LCD repair specialist ($100-150 or so). - I took the LCD off and checked the wire, at first it didn't fix my problem but then I Powred on my system and wiggled the wire on the back of the LCD a little, now it works perfectly! So you where spot on with the loose wire.
