I've got a Vostro 3300 laptop, downgraded to Windows XP.

I have downloaded and installed all the drivers needed.

But somehow the wired LAN device does not work properly.

During Windows startup, the network device seems to work fine. But after a while ( less than 5 minutes I think ), the network is disconnected.

I have checked the cabling and the cables are okay as I can use them with other laptop without problem.

I tried to disable the network connection within Windows Network Connections control panel. Then re-enabling it, but it won't work either.

I tried to disable/re-enable the device on the Device Manager, but it also won't work.

Removing and re-installing the driver also ended up with no result.

 

The wireless device is working fine, it's only the wired device ( the Realtek PCIe GBE network adapter ) that is having the problem.

 

Is there any solution to this problem?
