I have a week old 2407wfp. When I installed it, the usb ports on the left side and the SD card reader work fully functional. Yesterday, out of nowhere, they stopped working. When I insert a USB key, it lights up, so there's power, but windows doesn't recognize any device I try, no luck with SD cards either.
(the monitor to PC usb cable is attached, I even tried 2 different cables)
There doesn't seem to be any conflicts in the system/hardware/device manager.
The most common cause of this is when you use two dell monitors as they use the same id for usb &, think card readers. This is fixed by doing a registry edit & assigning a different id number to one of them.
If you aren't using the above then maybe another of these type of devices has been added recently & employs the same id. Fix is the same as above.
Lastly, take out the main cable linking the usb to the pc. Then boot up & plug it in. Windows should find new hardware & install the hub.
If none of these suggestions work, contact customer support.
Have to get windows to recognize that hub again.
Delete the USB hub in the device manager if one is there and get it to see the hub on boot up.
Unless it's dead.
Similar to what Kevin said.
