Some people say flat panels give them headaches, some say the same about CRTs. CRTs cause headaches because of their low refresh rates and flickering that normally you don't see. However, even though you don't see it, your eyes pick the flickering up and it gives you headaches after a while. LCD headaches are typically based on them being substantially brighter than CRTs in most cases. I've found LCDs a little easier on the eyes after having CRTs for about 15 years. As for image/video editing, again it depends. LCDs typically have better color representation with the exception of blacks (LCDs have a hard time displaying a TRUE black color - it's usually more of a very dark grey).

Thanks for your opinion.:smileyhappy:  I think I'll go by a Dell kiosk here and see what the new FP's look like...if they have any on display.  Mine is an older one, analog, before digital; so he may see a difference.

 

I had CRT and it use to give me a headache after a short time. I can be on the LCD all day and no headaches.
