M992 Monitor Problem

I recently reformated my computer and ever since there has been a 4 inch line in the middle of the screen coming from the right side. i have tried changing the wallpaper and monitor settings with no luck. i even reinstalled the monitor drivers with no luck. any ideas how to get rid of this line?

    hola

if your monitor self test is successful, that is when the monitor is not connected to the cpu, it will show a self test feature where three different colors will be shown. If that picture is not clear, then the monitor will have to be replaced.

the monitor is connected. everything works on the monitor. i just have a thin line halfway down the screen coming from the right hand side of the screen. its not a monitor test or anything like that.

I understand...I wanted you to do a monitor test. For that you will have to disconnect the signal cable and see what you see on the screen. i.e connect the monitor to the power jack and to nothing else. If you see the line during the self test, it means the monitor has gone bad. The only thing you can do is replace the monitor.:smileysad:

Then it can be a problem with the video card or with the operating system. You can repair the operating system.
