Monitor

I have a Dimension XPS which has a flat screen monitor that is on power save. I am unable to get it to power up. I've tried unplugging everything it is attached to and then replugging and nothing has helped. When I click on one of the buttons it says:  "  3. S-Video; in power save mode. Please check video signal." Then all I see is a black screen. What does that mean and how do I do that so that I can use my computer again?

Your monitor should have an Input Select button. Turn the PC and monitor on. If the monitor is connected the PC video card via a VGA port, press the monitor Input Select button to choose VGA. If connected via DVI, choose DVI.
