purchasing a new 2007FPW?
if i were to purchase a new 2007FPW from dell, would i be guarenteed to get one flashed with the new firmware that eliminates the gradient banding problem? or would i be better off finding a 2005FPW model from a 3rd party site and purchasing that instead?

I would say the 2007wfp's with the new firmware update wont start shipping until around the middle of the month. If you can get a good price on the 2007wfp now then order it. The banding issue isn't THAT big of an issue that you can't use the monitor just fine till you get a replacement. You dont even hardly notice the problem really unless you do a color gradient test.
