Sometimes when I start my Dimension 4400 the resolution is changed to the lowest setting. When I restart the computer it looks like it normally does. This may happen 3 - 4 times in a row and then not do it again for a month. Does anyone know why this is happening and what I can do to make it stop? Thanks for your help.
If I was u i would check my drivers make sure they are ok. than update as needed. if the problem persists you built in card or your added card maybe have a glich in it.
don't worrie i know people who cant turn on a computer......first it is always good to do your windows update it will update obvious drivers and other windows items. just click your Start>AllPrograms>Windows Update "should be at the top of all your programs" than do everything it tells you. do you know if your comp has on board graphics or do you have a seperate card? if you have a sepreate card find out who makes it and go to there web site and download there latest driver. you computer will let you know if you are running the most up to date driver. if you have an onboard graphics card than windows Update will take care of you. to check your card to see if it is working properly go to Start>My Computer>Control Panel>System>Hardware Tab>Device Manager>. u will than see a list click on display adapters "This will also tell you what brand Graphic Adapter you have" click on the device that is shown. than click on the DRIVER Tab than Click Update most offened it will go to were it needs to go to update itself. if you need anymore help just post............
