S2722DZ, speaker, distorted music

Hello community!

The issue with my Dell 27" Monitor S2722DZ is related to audio. When I listen to music, whether loud or low, the speaker often starts crackling. The music is distorted, as if the speaker is damaged. After few, sometimes more seconds the problem resolves spontaneously. The problem is most noticeable with the HDMI cable. It is less common with USB-C, but it is also there. It is not related to computer - on another laptop with Windows 10 it also cracks. The current computer is a new Dell with Windows 11. Of course, the drivers are up to date, uninstalled and installed several times. The service sent me the same Dell S2722DZ monitor instead of mine. But the problem on the new monitor was the same!

Does anyone have an idea what this is due to?

    * That doesn't make sense to me. If you purchased a S2722DZ, any replacement monitor will also be a S2722DZ.

If both the original S2722DZ and the replacement S2722DZ have the same audio issue, the likelihood of both being faulty is remote. That means the fault most likely lies with the cabling, operating system, or audio drivers.

Popping/crackling, etc., are often posted PC problems (all brands not just Dell).  There is no "one fix" and each has to be addressed individually.  Its not the speakers in a monitor or any speaker hardware.

If you have a Dell PC, for testing disable the Dell Support Assistant as it has been known to be a factor in latency problems.  Disable it, restart PC and check for audio problems.

Wi-Fi is also a cause for some. IF you are using Wi-Fi temporarily disable it and check for audio problems.

Finally download and run the free (and popular) Resplendence Latency Mon.   Its the best tool for audio latency (pops/crackles).  Its what we use to "tame" recording studio PC's.

This is why I tested this DELL S2722DZ on 4 different HDMI cables, and on 3 different computers (but honestly, all dell and 2 different systems (win 10 and 11). It happends every time on HDMI cable, no matter what combination I pick. The only solution is to use USB-C cable, in this case the problem happened only once till now. But of course this is the solution, which doesnt suit me at all.
