I´ve a problem with the authorization of the permanent license of the Legato Networker Server (Network Edition)
During the installationprozess we used temp Enabler codes (meanwhile expired)
Now we got from EMC license Dept our permanent keys including the authorization codes.
But unfortunately when I try to delete the "old" expired temp key - a message pops up and told me "Cannot delete the base license enabler"
When I try to set up my new permanent key next to the old expired one a message pops up told me that "A base license enabler already exists"
Other products based on the Host ID had no licensing and authorization probems.
Also, you cant try this: get a business or workgroup temp enabler (media kit usually comes with some ones), and use nsrcap -d to downgrade to that edition. Then use nsrcap -u to upgrade to Network Edition again, using your definitive license. Worked for me a lot of times, I hope it should work for you too.
There is always just one base enabler per server. Perhaps you meant to say if you can delete other enablers from GUI? In that case answer would be yes.
I looked at these and was wondering if there was a way to delete just one base enabler. After the fiasco last week I ended up with a trial base module along with my normal base module. It will not let me delete the extra one from the GUI and I don't want to start all over entering all the modules.
That's confusing as when you would restore you would restore res directory without new temp enabler. Then when old res would replace temp one I would expect temp license to be gone too. Anyway, following KB article should help you resolve this issue.
I guess yes Actually I did see once something like as you described. It was setup based on network edition that had upgrade license to power edition and with shift to some recent release that combination didn't work causing one of those two to expire. However those two should be represented as a single license.
It is possible to end up with two base enabler if one is expired of course and the you enter second one, but to have two valid at the same time does not make any sense. So, if one was expired from before that's fine (even usually you don't hit that as your first base enabler get authorized and you never end up seeing it as expired).
What happen to me was when I couldn't get anything to work last week they gave me a temporary base enabler and jukebox enabler. Once I was able to restore the res directory it had my original ones in there so now I am stuck with both. I was able to delete the extra jukebox enabler but not the base. Everything seems to be working, I just keep getting the base enbler expired message.
