Best method for migrating clone data from old DD to new DD

We recently received a new DD2500 that I would like to use as a clone target, replacing a DD640.  The existing DD640 has been cloned from my primary DD for the past few years and I would like to keep that data.  I do not want to fool Networker into thinking that the new hardware is the old hardware, if possible.

What is the best method to do this?  I could do a clone via the DD but then the Networker info needs to be updated.  Reclone the savesets to the new DD and then wipe out the old clone savesets?

If you want NetWorker to be aware of the replicated information then you would have to get the clone process configured in NetWorker. The best option would be to perform a volume clone.

If you have DDBoost the best and fastest way is to use Networker to do the clone as Informed Replicas.

That way it will be cataloged and you will not have ended with two copys of the same saveset that networker doesn´t like.
