When I run jbconfig, I am able to create the Jukebox, and storage nodes that use \\.\Tape0 fine. When I try to add just \\.\Tape0 by itself (for LAN and local backups) it says it does not exists. In Windows, I can see the Tape drive fine in device manager.
I am having the EXACT SAME issue with my miSAN V. Weird thing is I finally got it to see it but it lables every slot with the EXACT same label. The inquire still doesn't show the \\.\Tape0 part. Very weird. I'd appreceate any advice as well.
I can see on inquire's outcome that Windows doesn't give a path to drive LTO-2. Have you installed the latest drivers for IBM LTO-2? If not, you have to do it and then you'll be able to see:
In update_scsi_bus_map: open_bus invalid on nadapters = 3 scsidev@0.0.0:HL-DT-STCDRW/DVD GCC4244B101|CD-ROM scsidev@2.0.0:DELL PERC 5/i 1.00|Disk WWNN=600188B03EDD19000CE46D295519AB22
You should allways be sure that when you are configuring a device with NW, it should have its symbolic name or device path name. Infact, in Windows device name itself should have been \\.\tape0, what name have you given to your device?
