I want to know where is the client id stored? The server side only? or the server side and the client side? If the client side will store the client id then which file used?

Thanks.

    FrankLiu,

The clientid for all clients you have created in contained within the Media Database. If a client is created, deleted and recreated with the same name then NetWorker will allocate the previous clientid to the latest client definition. Things can go astray when original client is created with one name (e.g. short) and then deleted. When recreated a different name (e.g. FQDN) a new clientid would be generated and associated to this client definition going forward which may mean that historical backups for the original will not be available as some Customers expect. If you are changing a client name then ensure you note the original clientid before deletion or use mminfo query to see what it was and then use this when creating the latest client. NetWorker will prompt you to ensure this is what you want to do - if you answer yes any historical backups will be available as we have the association.

    Hope this helps

    Regards,
