I am running Legato Server 7.2.1 on a windows server.
I am trying to add a Linux Server to my backup but find the documentation way to long. I don't want to read for 3 days to backup one server. I have never really seen backup software this overly complicated.
Is there any documentation source that just tells you how to do stuff, rather then the entire life history of a program.
In the mean time, what is the bullet list of installation requirements?
I have installed lgtoclnt-7.4-1.x86_64.rpm Is that okay considering my server is 7.2.1?
Can someone give me the cliff notes on how to add a linux server to the backup?
The Linux installation guide is only about 82 pages long and you only need the chapter where it describes the software installation which is only half a page. I do not understand what you are complaining about.
BTW: If you are now aware already, you will also need a Linux Client Pack license for the Linux client.
Actually it is not complicated at all - all you need is to add that client as any other.
So, install client package on Linux box first. Then create client on server, select policy you wish and place it group. Further configuration may or may not involve pool selection.
Administrator guide explains very simply what to do (see chapter called Backing up data).
