at the end of backup my customer receiving the following error :
"------ E R R O R -------
* itfcta01:H: Failed to store index entries
"
The backup server is Compaq TRU64 5.1b with 2 Gb Ram and 8 Giga swap area.
The client is Windows 2000 with installed Networker SnapImage Rel 2.0 and NDMP TapeServer Rel 2.0
Anyone has suggestions to solve this problem ?
Thanks in advance .
Kind regards,
Andrea
It depends - could be few things, but usually it indicates that tmp area under NSRHOME is not large enough to accommodate requirement to process and merge temp files under current index db. You will need to check more logs other than savegrp log.
Well, this error is either problem with space required or index corruption of some kind (in which case nsrck -L6 client_name should fix it). Otherwise open it with support - as you have debug output you might get things resolved quicker.
Thanks for your suggestions . We have checked the NSRTMP folder during the backup and the space is more than enough . We have redone the backup stopping the services, deleting all the files inside the TMP folder and restarting the services but the error is always the same . We have done the backup with level debug D9 Do you have any other suggestions ?
