I have one SAP client configured, and everytime its group runs, I get lots os this message in the daemon.log file:
07/14/06 18:00:38 nsrmmdbd: Save set ssid:1136133615 cloneid:1152910831 retention time update is before browse time, adjusting browse time
Browse and retention time is set to the same (like every other client we have), and we don't do automatic clones. I didn't find this message in any place, manuals or KB...
Yeap... some weeks ago I posted a problem we were having here when trying to update from 7.3 to 7.3.1 (was necessary due to a bug). After some tries, EMC told us to update to 7.3.1 and use some binaries and libraries they sent to us.
Then everything worked fine. As we were going to have more storage nodes to update, I asked them about what was exactly those binaries, and they told us that those files were the jumbo patch (the one for 7.3).... No comments....
SAP client has a different behavior in its settings, than anyone else. All the effective settings are located in the init{ORASID}.utl file, which is located in the $ORAHOME\Database folder (in Windows environment). Look in this file for effective browse and retention policies. Those defined at the client itself in the NetWorker have no effect in case of SAP backup.
I don't know how I didn't see that before. You're right, there's a setting for that in the .utl file, but I did not noticed that. That might solve my problem.
