Skip Bootstrap Via GUI and not CMD

Hi Guys

We have just discovered something interesting with regards to Skipping Bootstrap Backups when all clients are set to Skip.

EG: If you have a Monthly group which is set to skip every day except the last day of the month and run this Backup on a day that is set to skip the following will happen.

1. If this group is triggered by the scheduler in the GUI it will skip the Bootstrap (i.e:Work correctly)

2. If you start the group by running savegrp Monthly from Command line it will skip everything except the Bootstrap (i.e: Behave incorrectly)

This has caused us a number of headache's when investigating how to skip bootstrap backups.

Does this group include the Nw server itself? If not, is the Nw server in a active group?

    Hi Daniel

Absolutely correct the NW server is part of the monthly group which is active. This group skips every day of the month except the last day.

Well, it's strange to savegrp act different than GUI. It may be a bug or not, Support can tell you better as you did all the tests and this issue can be reproduced.

Until you get an answer, why do you have to start groups using savegrp? If the schedule level is ok, let Nw start it in the scheduled time. Or you're only doing tests and found this issue?

    Hi Daniel

We came across this in our environment while doing tests. Seems it may well be a bug, cause i cant see how the GUI differs from the CMD.

Thanks for the input i will forward this to Support for an answer.
