Have you been able to connect to the internet before using this cable modem?

Are you connecting Wirelessly to the modem or do you have a wired connection?

Have you configured your Internet settings on the modem(i.e. username, password, connection details etc)

Are you saying you have both cable and DSL?

crackinchris is on the right track if you have both and need to get the cable working.

On your cable modem, please post the results of an ipconfig /all command

    Start>Run>cmd

    type this:  ipconfig /all >> C:\ipconfig.txt

Copy and paste the results of that files here.

You are getting APIPA addessing.  A valid address true, but only as as a default when a Windows machines can not find a DHCP server.  That is your problem.
