Loud

Hi-

I have had my inspiron 6000 for about 4 months now, and I feel that it is louder than it should be.  I took it up with dell, and they came out and replaced the fan.  The tech said it sounded normal, but when i compare it to a friends 6000, i know mine makes more noise.  It's to the point where i have to turn on music just so i stop thinking about it!  What could be the issue besides the fan?  Thanks

PS-I have a temp monitor on my HD, typically it is in the 107F-114F range...once I've seen it get up to 126F.

First note that you have a hardware problem, not a problem with networking, the topic of this forum.  To get the best help for your problem you should post on the Inspiron - General Hardware forum.  If your hard drive temperature is as you stated, it is running way too hot.  The machine is problably making so much noise because it is running the fan at its highest speed to try to reduce the temperature.  Something is seriously wrong if the temperatures are that high.   This needs immediate attention and your best bet would be to call Dell Tech Support and get it fixed under warranty before components start burning out.
