True Mobile 2300 software setup does not recognize internet connection
I recently purchased a Dell True Moble 2300 wireless router. When trying to install the "First PC" from installation CD, it does not recognize my broadband internet connection. Therefore, the software installation is terminated. However, if I go ahead and connect the router, the Internet works okay. What can I do to get the software to install? -
Thanks.
Your best course of action is to use Add/Remove Programs to remove that worthless piece of software. Everything you need to do to configure the TM2300 can be done using its browser based configuration tool, using Internet Explorer and navigating to http://192.168.2.1.
I tried it, but it doesn't help. My internet explorer says "This page cannot be displayed". Do I connect the router first or is there something wrong? thanks
Based on your other post, you said you had internet access, but the TrueMobile utility reported that you did not. Assuming that you have connected the router to your broadband modem and the PC is connected to the router, you should be able to access the router's browser based configuration tool at http://192.168.2.1 using Internet Explorer. If this is not the case, please provide additional details on your setup.
I too, have fcpa's problem, but with twist...It works for a while, then it doesn't. After reading this message board about the control utility, I unloaded the software because it said it couldn't find the 2300. However, when using the browser based setup utility it indicates no connection to the internet, although it's working right now. When I go to internet connection setup page, there are only two dsl options--DSL (static) and DSL (PPPoE) neither of which apply to my connection. I have DSL (DHCP). I have tried the cable setting thinking it would have DHCP implemented, but that still doesn't work. Since my connection goes away after a while, I'm thinking that once the DHCP lease expires the router doesn't know it needs to renew the lease.
My question is "Is there a setting on the 2300 that implements DHCP on the WAN side?"
