Hi, I have a new Inspiron 1520. I can connect to internet through WiFi. The thing is I never see, phisically, the "green light" on, located on one side of the laptop. I mean, the light that indicates radio activity.
the wifi light indicator is a tool to detec wireless network, this is handy no need to turn on computer, by default this was designed to function this way
I'm not so sure that you understood the question correctly. Let me elaborate. I'm having the same problem as the original poster. It's not the fact that the light isn't on when we think it should be, it's the fact that the light NEVER turns on no matter what we do. Even running the diagnostics on the card, the LED passes the test, but I have never EVER seen mine flash, and I'm sure this is the same problem that the OP is having. Sorry if it sounded like i was yelling. The truth is I wasn't. Maybe I didn't understand your response correctly. Could you explain again the function of the light?
