Wireless network security

I have setup my wireless network at home using a D-Link router and my new 600M laptop with a Intel Pro 2200 card.

My question is regarding security of my information over my network. I have setup the router using 128 bit encryption. Is this enough?

What else do I need to do to ensure that my information is not going out to anyone with the knowledge to get it? What should I be careful of?

Thanks all.

If you search in the forum search above you will see months of advice on wireless security.  Realize if someone is determined to get into your wireless system, they can.  I would not have sharing enabled on my network.

You have done 50% of what you need, now enable MAC filtering to lock out all but your MAC Address.  128 bit encryption can be broken and MAC addresses can be spoofed, but hackers are going to go after low hanging fruit and your LAN will not be one of those with the above installed.

So I understand you correctly. MAC filtering would be telling the router to only accept incoming or outgoing from specific MAC addresses? I have seen this in the menu's for my router, the MAC addresses show up for my PC's and laptop hooked up to it.

    I think is getting clearer.

    Thanks.

    Thanks again for your help.

Got my system setup with MAC filtering in addition to the 128 bit WEP encryption.
