740, USB does write bad

I have a Optiplex 740 with 4Gb memory and now Windows 7 64 bit. I had 32bit but it gave all kind of trouble and one of them was that the USB does not write good. Everything else works good: camera, mouse and keybord. In the begin it writes good but after a short time  the things are demaged. That is with the front and back ports. Its impossible to make a back up like that. I have tried to reinstale the USB ports and even the bios but it did not help. Anyone?

First the OS version with only 4GB of RAM.  The 32 bit OS Is better suited as it uses less of the available memory, thus leaving more for programs.  The fact that you installed the 64 bit and it worked better for a while is most likely  just that you "reinstalled" Windows.  Had you reinstalled the 32 bit it would have probably worked the same.

From your post it sounds like the USB transfer rate drops.  Are you always using the same external device when this happens?  Have you tried a different media (hard drive) to see if does it with that one?  Also make sure you are using a USB cable that is certified for USB 2.0.

I have tried ie with more "ëxpencive" sticks and than there is no problem anymore. So no more cheap sticks for me anymore.

      Thanks.
