I have a USB wireless adapter by Tp-Link. This antenna is equipped with USB-3 and could operate at SuperSpeed speed. My pc features two USB-3 SS ports.

Recently, I switched to an optical fiber connection (FTTH) and found this antenna was not performing very well. Thanks to UsbTreeView (and the Windows 11 control panel too) and to a patient user on the product forum, I found the antenna was not operating at SuperSpeed, but only at HighSpeed, so basically I plugged in an USB-3 antenna but it performed the way a traditional USB would perform (consequently degrading the Internet connection speed). The pc ports were ok, because a Verbatim SSD connected to both of them regularty operated at SS.

I manually installed the wireless adapter official driver, but nothing changed.

The day after, I received a notification from Dell Command app: I had to install a new audio driver, a completely unrelated thing. Dell Command installed the driver, then I was required to restart the pc.

On pc restart, the antenna was not working anymore: its green light was off and I had no Internet connection anymore. I unplugged it and plugged it in again: it worked. Then, I found this time the adapter was finally operating as USB-3 SS (confirmed by UsbTreeView, the Windows settings panel and the speed of the Internet connection).

So, the question is: since the manually installed driver didn't work when I installed it AND the adapter started working well right after the installation of another driver by Dell Command, is Dell Command involved in the happy end of this story? Does Dell Command execute some control on the remaining drivers?
