Go to SolutionHBA330 adapter firmware version doesn't match?
I'm using poweredge servers with the HBA330 adp in my lab infrastructure and ESXi 7 is installed on the server.
recently I found that when i use ESXi cli to lookup the firmware version of HBA330, it showed version "16.00.11.00
",
however, at the same time i found that the iDRAC said the firmware version of HBA330 is "16.17.01.00".
Does anyone know why the version number is inconsistent? is it possibly a bug or something?

Hello, thanks for choosing Dell. What idrac version do you use? Is it up to date?

I'm using iDRAC9 version 3.21.21.21.
However, after looking up the HBA firmware 16.17.01.00 webpage: https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=nknvc&oscode=xi70&productcode=poweredge-r740
It described different firmware version: "core" and "package", as shown in figure below:
So can I assume that the firmware version acquired from my ESXi console and my iDRAC9 webpage could be correct, and these firmware version numbers meaning the same stuff???

Hi,
Based on the information that you provided, yes the firmware version included in the package has the core firmware which is needed.
