Hello. I've been purchased couple of PowerEdge R650 server. And on one of it have grey IDRAC interface. We can not understand why. Other servers have common-used blue.
Sorry to necro but did anyone find a fix for this? I think we found what used to be a VxRail Readynode that was turned back into a Poweredge, after the reimage everything looks correct except this gray banner in iDRAC. I wonder if anyone smart can change the .pm identity module file to make it Dell blue again.
The gray iDRAC UI on that node strongly suggests it is still carrying an OEMR / Ready Node identity module rather than the Dell-branded ID module. On these systems the branding is not changed by reimaging the host OS; it is controlled by the Identity Module package and applied through iDRAC / CSIOR during the rebranding flow .
Supported remediation is to download the correct Dell-branded Identity Module for the exact platform generation, extract the `CustBSU.pm` file, and upload it through iDRAC under Maintenance > System Update. After install, check the Job Queue until the OEM ID Module task is completed, then reset iDRAC, and finally cold boot the host so the rebranding process can finish.
Important operational note: the package is platform-specific, and Dell explicitly says to use the `CustBSU.pm` file, not the executable wrapper or any manually edited `.pm` file. Manual modification of the branding payload is not the supported path, and can leave the system in an inconsistent or unvalidated state.
