    Hendranata,

With the S140 you would need the cable to go from the backplane to the motherboard, but in order to locate the correct cable i will need to know the specific backplane installed.

Would you clarify how many drives, the backplane can take?

    Let me know.

You do not need all 7 cables. Only two cables is needed among 7 which I mentioned.

As I mentioned in my post you need one of first 4 cables(TXC4H, F2V74, MFTWX, FF7PK)  for NVME drives in slot 2 to 5 and one of last 3 cables (6PPNG, 6WD76, 684MR) for NVME drives in slot 6 to 9.

H755 is not a supported controller on PowerEdge R640. As it is not supported it is not validated, hence we can not guarantee that it will work.

You can refer below link for a list of supported storage controller for PowerEdge R640

if the backplane has pic-e nvme port cable.. can we use perc H755 ?

if yes then what is the cable part no that support for it?

technically backplane support nvme disk + pci-e cable.. so it should be work with perc H755 right?
