I'm not sure intel 900P is a Dell certified SSD or not. If it is not you may experience problems. Because server might not see SSD based on firmware. I cannot access information about sales side, but I'm sharing SSDs that I can see for 240GB compatible with R730 in the spare parts list. If there are those who have the run the model you mentioned, their experience in the community will be useful.

There is no help from the hardware perspective.  The previous H710 offer a SSD (read) cache feature named Cachecade but this was dropped within the next refresh of the plattform.

Today this is solved by the "software defined storage" stuff which named  MS Storage Spaces, VMware vSAN  or others.

If youre running Windows and Intel Rapid Storage Technology (Intel RST) you can use Intel Optane as an accelerator.
