Switching Controller Cards

Hi all, I have a PowerEdge 1600SC that for whatever reason is currently using an Adaptec U320 Controller, well I happened to have found the PERC3 that it came with and it seems to working just fine. My worry is that if I switch controllers Server 2003 will just blue screen until dooms day. Since this is a production server I can't really test at whim and I have no other machines to test with or controller cards at that. So any input/ideas/advice would be great! Thanks!

It actually wouldn't even boot. When you add the drives to the PERC 3, you will need to create an array which will result in data loss. If you wanted to move the drives to the PERC 3, you will be looking at an OS reinstall and restoring from backup.

On a side note the perc 3 card is U160 so you'd also be loosing some speed by switching back.
