Adapter visibility in PowerPath Administrator

Should the host adapters be visible under the Adapter tree in the scope pane of PowerPath Administrator, even if the storage has not yet been allocated? The particular host in question is running W2k3 SP1, with PowerPath 4.6.1 and the latest drivers/firmware for Emulex LP10000-E cards, however the question is open to any version of PowerPath

I'm not sure what SHOULD be, but I can tell you what I have seen.

In our environment we don't the anything show up in the PowerPath GUI until there is actual storage allocated to the host from an array.

Usually I don't even see anything until the first LUN has been set up in Disk Manager and Windows can use it as a drive.

Paul, EMCs response to this is that PowerPath will only show the apapters once storage has been assigned to them.
