Had this in a textfile as i used to work on them. On the front panel go to the information menu and select time and date.
Press the lefthand button, you should get a warning message, press ok. enter 44122333 then press ok. It should confirm that the password has been reset. If it doesn't work then you'll have to try Delltech as they can calculate a code..
Have you checked the online manual?<ADMIN NOTE: Broken link has been removed from this post by Dell>.As you can see there, HP made this unit, so if you cannot find it on the Dell site, you can check on HPs site, but I'm not exactly sure under which model name/number HP made the system for themselves.
It has been awhile since I worked with one of those units but I recall there was a default password of 8-1's or 8-0's... worth a try... if you can get in you can reset the unit.
Since you used to work on them, I had a scsi controller lock up during a firmware upgrade. I do have a spare controller and I am able to use my library. Is there a way to reset the scsi controller? I do see an S1 button on the card. Is that button used to reset the controller?
