I have an old workhorse that has served me 24/7 for years. This past weekend I swapped out an old video card and harddrive, and now I have the following problems.
After the HBA finds the devices @ 0, and the notice of "MPT boot ROM successfully installed!", the system just hangs
BIOS is inaccessible. I can get to the 'one time boot menu', it finds the boot drive, USB option, System Setup, Diagnostics,... but no matter what I select, it still freezes.
I can access the SAS configuration setup, but am not sure what could be different.
I currently have:
BIOS A17 installed
SAS 6 Host Bus Adapter, MPTBIOS-6.22.03.00
I've cleared the CMOS via jumper and pulling the battery, but this hasn't helped.
mmmm out of ideas, personally. Is the old gpu powered with a cable ? if yes, is the same cable being used vs the 2nd (if present ) ? ( just to check if it's the same rail as before, being used to provide the extra juice ).
Try the 2nd gpu pci-e slot ?
When you swapped out the gpu, was to try a new one or an used one ? Is that gpu working elsewhere ?
I have a T7500 that did the same thing. Graphic cards ok. BIOS battery around 2.7v which I changed. Looks at built in SAS controller but doesn't boot. Tried a cmos reset. Sees CD/DVD drive and even tried installing a floppy drive. But can't select anything and can't get into the system setup.

I'm assuming you tried putting back the older videocard ?
