Precision 7710 fast battery wear

Hello all,

in January 2022 I bought a second hand Precision 7710, with new Li-Ion battery MFKVP. From January to August battery health decrease from 98% to 59%. Last week I bought replacement battery MFKVP, and for only 3 days use battery health decrease from 98% (out of the box) to 85%. I use original 240W powersupply. Is this normal? Should I look for more serious problemday 3aday 3aday 3day 3day 2day 2day 1day 1

    Hello Mary G, thank you for your reply. I agree that batteries have been nowadays don last long, but I'm talking for 1-2 days, not yers.

    Batteries don't last as long as they used to years ago. They can start to weaken after only 1-2 years. They even can fail during that time. Batteries are only warrantied for the first year on new laptops. See-

    Is the replacement battery OEM Dell, and how old is it (somewhere in the string that likely starts with CN, KR, etc.is a 3-digit field set off with hyphens -- what is that code)?

    It will look like this:  KR 0C4HCW 71275 688 0000 X00

    the 688 is the date code (the first digit is the year of manufacture;  in this case, 2016).

    Hello, yes battery is OEM Dell. Manufactured 02/2022.
