Hello Bill, Thanks to Santa for solving the 1815dn Netscan issue!!!! A housekeeping request. Can you post a link to this new thread in the other thread/s in the old part of the forum? I was part of the thread in the other forum and would get notification when someone had posted something new in that thread. Since that thread was closed down, I did not get a notification of the fix. If you are able to post a link in the old thread pointing those thread members here, all of those folks in that thread that had been suffering with this issue since day 1 might get a notification of the fix. I now have Vista (32-bit), 1815dn Print, 1815dn Print to Fax, 1815dn Scan to PC.

For what it's worth, here are the steps I went through to get Netscan and Vista to play nice.

1. Download and install Printer Firmware (as of this email, dated 12/12/2007)
2. Download the "Dell-Application" Vista 32-bit driver (dated 12/6/2007)

I had previously installed the other two drivers:
- "Dell-Driver(dated 1/29/2007), and,
- "Dell-Patch/Upgrade (dated 2/27/2007)

When the "Dell-Application" driver (12/6/2007) is installed, if finds evidence of the previous patch and/or driver, and it wanted to un-install those items.

IMPORTANT. Reboot after the un-install.

Then re-run "Dell-Application" (12/6/2007) and go through the configuration of the new device.

Also, I just went through setting the 1815 on a new Notebook with Vista. During the "Dell-Driver" (1/29/2007) install process ... I did NOT select the "Install Scanner" (or whatever the checkbox was) and instead let the "Dell-Application" (12/6/2007) process install the Netscan software at that point. Netscan worked fine on that Notebook.

Thanks to Dell for the nice Christmas present ... albeit a year in the making ;->
