Dell AIO 966 wireless printer trouble
I am having some communication problems. When I print a page it takes about 5 minutes to print one page. My wireless signal is good. I can't scan anything either. It keeps saying it's downloading applications from my computer and then says it can't retrieve them. I have already uninstalled and reinstalled the software and it did not help. When I open the all in one center on the computer it takes forever to open and runs slow. It is only with this software. Other programs run fine. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Hang in three Wes, Someone will try to help You. It amazes me how the only answer on the forum seems to be to reinstall the drivers. If Dell has a problem with the drivers maintaining stability, I wish they would just say so. I also find no comfort in the blaming of other devices. We get enough of that with Tech support.
There seems to be an inherent weakness in the wireless portions of the Dell print systems.
If you read correctly, the recommended wireless router settings need to be done first.
As for the drivers, Vista machines do NOT completely remove from the computer. The patch is needed for the correct drivers to be installed.
Also you're NOT helping someone that wants help.
Please think about his really hard. If you were the other person and someone was trying to help you, and someone came in and bashed the whole post, would you be afraid to post a reply when the person is really trying to be very helpful?
Have a NICE day!

I've recently come across a site where some of the technical fault and remedies of Dell printers are enlisted you can check that out in the. Hope that helps!

I have faced the same kind of issue with my Lexmark printer, this issue is mainly of the firmware issue, causing it to be an error called lexmark 900 firmware error , you just have to simply turn the printer off and wait for some time so that the printer memory gets reset and then turn the printer off to solve the issue, this works on every printer, I had a brothers and a Lexmark printer and it worked for both.

In the printer, there is some problem that can happen easily. in the Dell AIO 966 wireless printer has the issue it didn't connect with the device properly, and printing the correctly. so I also faced so much problem when I am using this printer, but when all this problem has solved then I realize that this is one of the best printers .

I recommened to you before the wireless router settings. Using the recommended wireless router settings allow the printer to communicate to the wireless router better, causing less problems and allowing everything to work.
Update the firmware in your wireless router. Manufacturer's website, make & Model needed.
Broadcast SSID(You may want to change this to make it easier to connect)
Use WPA security
Mixed b and g mode(n if available)
Use channels 1, 6 or 11. Most devices work better on these channels.
Save and exit. Power everything off for 30 seconds. Power everything back on, wait 30 seconds, now try to connect.
As for the Dell All-In-One Center taking time to open, try moving some of the scanned items to another folder. It takes time to load these images.
I would really try this.
Download and run this patch to completely remove the printer from your computer.
Restart your computer.
Download the proper drivers.
XP Drivers
Vista 32-bit Drivers
All other drivers
