General satisfaction with 3000N?

Hello All,

I am considering the purchase of Dell's 3000N laser printer. It will be used solely for home purposes and I am intending on adding memory and the duplexing tray.

I have read through the threads which, of course, generally refer to problems owners have with their (in this case) printer. What I would like to know is: Are there any/many out there that are completely satisfied with their 3000/3100 printer?

Thank you very much.
I8600Info:robotvery-happy:
P.S. I have narrowed the selection down to either the Dell or an HP machine.

Do consider the 3100cn instead of the 3000cn... it includes full toner cartridges (as opposed to the 3000cn which has 1/2 the size cartridges) which more than compensate for the price differential.  I am fully satisfied with my 3100cn... A few problems with wrinkled envelopes, but not serious and I really don't use the envelope printing very much... I may call Dell one of these days.

Thank you very much! You have just pursuaded me to strongly consider the 3100.

By the way: Approximately how many color pages would one get out of cartridges? I realize that this is totally dependant on how intense the graphics are, et cetera, but just a ballpark figure?

    Thanks again.

Carefull, the color printing is only 5ppm.  B&W comes out about 20ppm, depending on how much graphics

Beautiful! I am thrilled with my current printer, but with the amount of color printing that I do I figure I have spent about 1/2 the cost of a laser printer already in peripherals alone. Probably the most salient point for my consideration for purchasing a laser printing is the speed; I often print 100-page, double-sided documents in multiple copies - in color!

Thank you again for all of your input. Take care.

I have only printed 500 pages and it still shows 100% on my toner cartridge... Either something is not sensing the toner properly or I haven't printed much per page.  Don't know the real story, will have to wait a bit longer

I will keep that it mind - thanks. The speed still will beat my old printer. And, I imagine, the clarity (and smudge resistance) will be that much better.

    Ciao.
