I keep getting the error "Replace unsupported Cartridge [32.05]" when trying to replace my DELL S5830 Series Laser Printer Cartridge. Suddenly my printer is telling me that I've got an unsupported cartridge. I've taken it out and put the old & several new one back in. Same message. Someone please help!
I just had a total of 7 Dell S5830 fail with this message in a week. I tried a new battery & firmware update nothing worked. I don't have an answer to why or how the printers lost their setting, but I do have the fix.
FIX: When turning the printer on and it will ask you to set the date & time. (Do not waste your time) just click the green check move on. Date & Time must be set within the Menu, setting, click security, and set date & time. After you finish, click home button and turn off the printer wait 5 seconds then turn back on.
fyi...At the error screen you must get back to MENU and go into SETTING (it will kick you back to the error message 10+ time but keep trying.
I have this problem too. Came suddenly, printer was working fine. Tried cleaning contacts and replacing cartridge with a brand new Dell cartridge. Printer is Dell B3460dn using Mac OS.
Turn off the printer and leave it for at least 10 seconds. Press and hold numeric buttons 2+6 while turning the power back on, don't release until the configuration menu progress bar appears - the printer should be entering configuration mode.
In the configuration menu, locate and select "restore factory defaults - out of service erase - erase memory"; wait until the restore progress completes. Turn off the printer when the message prompts.
Wait for at least 10 seconds and turn the printer back on, complete the initial setup - if your cartridge is being recognized now, it worked!
@Mark60 This actually worked for me! I turned off the printer, skipped the date/time setup when it restarted, then manually set the correct date and time in the settings. After that, it finally accepted the new cartridge and printed just fine—even though it said it was unsupported before.
I tried the instructions of j.valencia (4 March 2025, above) and Mvazquez6 (29 Oct 2025). The steps seemed to work OK, but I'm still getting the 32.05 "Replace Unsupported Cartridge" message. I wonder if the outage damaged the printer?
