Dell Media Experience 2.x Settings Errors

Good day to you all,

First, a little history:  My trusty Dimension 2400 came with Dell Media Experience [1.?? the exact version matters little]  After some time, I, being the update-fiend that I am, found that there was a version 2 available, so I updated to the basic, and from there to version 2 Deluxe.

Now, the problem that i have had with both version 2.1 [Basic] and version 2.2 [Deluxe] is that, when launched, DMX 2 tries to get you to fill out the basic settings.  That, in itself, is no problem, but after I complete Step 1 [choose either standard screen [4:3] or widescreen [16:9], on Step 2 [choose your type of speakers] there is nothing listed to choose from.  I never had this problem with version 1, and thus I am slightly frustrated.  Step 3, naturally asks for my name and email address, and lo and behold crashes the entire program when I fill in the afrorementioned data, leading to even further frustration.  Now, I am able to use the program by exiting the Settings wizard, but it automatically launches the Settings every time I open the program.

Chris M. has posted something that I think may refer to the problem with the email address, but I am still keen to be able to configure my speakers properly.  Knowing that my settings are not set up is probably more irritating to me than having to exit the Settings dialogue on every launch.

Thanks, in advance, for the help,
Nathanael Lawrence

    Hello Nathanael,

I was also facing the same problem with DMX and fixed it after installing the Dell upgarde from Cyberlink website (don't remember exact URL, but I refered Chris posting).
