So, this is likely a really unnecessary question, but wanted to see if anyone knew.

I recently ordered the dell 2300mp projector, along with a ceiling mount, and the Da-Lite 100" widescreen HDTV projector screen.

I intend on watching predominantly widescreen movies, but may watch some full frame DVD’s of television shows from time to time. I’m concerned about mounting my DVD player because if its set to project widescreen movies at a particular aspect ratio, what is going to happen when I want to watch a full frame video? I mean, full frame has video that plays at the top and bottom sections of the screen, and if I have it set for a widescreen mode, does this mean that the video will simply be going past the screen?

From what I can tell my only hope for this would be the zoom function. Would the zoom function permit me to ZOOM OUT in such a way that I could be able to view the full projected image without chopping off the top and bottom? If this would work, obviously I would end up having some unused screen space on the left and right of the projection screen, but better than missing any of the actual projected image I would say.

Would the zoom function accommodate this? Would the ZOOMING out (if it is possible) negatively impact video quality? Or should I avoid using the mount altogether?
