We recently purchased 2 new Dell 15FP consoles and 2 brand new Raritan Paragon 2 -42 port switches along with 2 new Paragon 2 UST-2 user stations.
In the past we had older models of the Dell consoles and Paragon 1 equipment, now with this new set up I'm seeing a long (10-20 seconds) delay when I switch from server to server. This delay however, seems to only happen when I switch to a server that no one has logged into. If I log into the server, switch to another server and log into that as well there is no delay between switching between those two machines. The delay seems to be the time it takes for the KVM or 15FP to render the Ctrl+Alt+Del screen.
Has anyone else seen this? I am using new Cat5E cables that vary in length from 10 to 40 feet and none fo them pass through a patch panel, the shorter cabled servers do not seem to have any less of a delay than the longer cabled servers do.
I've been through troubleshooting steps with Raritan but nothing has worked so far, has anyone else ever seen this?
I suppose that it could be but we've had these same servers on older Dell FP consoles and Raritan Paragon 1 switches / user stations and never experienced any delay.
