Dell™ PowerEdge™ 2550 error message
3 long beeps , and an error message; Invalid SCSI configuration; primary daughtercard not detected.
This is my first server.
EDITED(for clarity I hope)
With 1 or 2 daughterboards installed I get the 3 long beeps. I have had the server into the bios ok and into the F10 configuration setup so all the hardware must be ok.
The problem may be which keyboard buttons to press and when.
Any hints will help me.
I got as far as installing Ubintu 9.04 on this server then I forgot what passwords were for what even though I wrote them down and the wording seemed to have changed from the enter passwords to the login password stages...so I am duh..
From the instructions I understand there should be only the Primary Daughterboard installed rather than both daughterboards for a 1 X 4 SCSI hard drive configuration but the 3 beeps still occur.
I had the Primary Daughterboard installed and the main cable from the A SCSI motherboard connector to the B daughterboard and...get this, I do not know what I am doing but I am trying....I pressed the F2 keyboard key, the F10 keyboard key and the Enter keyboard key one after the other and I got into the Bios and the Configuration Utility ok. But after a reboot, maybe I should press certain keyboard keys, but the 3 long beeps happened again.
How did I and how should I get passed the 3 long beeps LOL because the message is System Halt! .
