I have a R620 that does not boot and only IDRAC7 is accessible. It shows a mismatched BIOS firmware version + IDRAC7 / Lifecycle Controller firmware version. I believe BIOS version should be 2.90
@DELL-Chris H Should I click Install or Install Next Boot? as I said when I booted up previously (which led to the BIOS mismatch discovery), it didn't show the 'system booting' message, just hung. so I'm concerned 'install next boot' might not work now?
I suggest giving it some time. Now just to let you know, there is a chance this wont work. When the iDrac was updated without the BIOS it is what caused the mismatch error, but it also may have put the idrac at a point where it can no longer communicate with the BIOS. That is the reason we always recommend walking the BIOS and iDrac up to current, gradually and together, and not just running the latest version. Jumping that many updates, and getting the BIOS and iDrac too far apart can damage the motherboard.
