Upgrading OS on a PER710
I know this is potentially a question from MS rather than this board, but I'm betting I can get better on the ground experience here. As Win 2008 R2 is running out of support I'm hoping to upgrade an existing PER710 from 2008 standard to a 2016 Standard. Now this server is a domain control container as part of a really huge AD enterprise. My question is will a standard in place upgrade maintain all the connections and security as it relates to the larger AD tree? Will it still be recognized and contain all of the domain users, groups etc.?
Thanks very much.

Stof95,
There is not an upgrade path from 2008 directly to 2016. You would have to upgrade to 2012 and then upgrade 2012 to 2016, as seen here. In theory it should retain the settings but I would copy the parameters to be safe.
Hope this helps.
